Poetic Justice for California

Cuts in EDUCATION, HEALTH CARE and SOCIAL PROGRAMS!?????  Under the Mighty O?

Wait wait wait.  Lemme guess.  It's still "Bush's Fault."

Couldn't have happened to a more deserving group of people.

Yannow Jerry Brown has a degree in Classic Literature. Add to that a B.A. in Latin & Greek along with a degree from Yale Law. Math never seemed get his attention, then or now.

I live in Southern California in Orange County and I love the state is going broke. This is a perfect storm the state has to cut spending there really isn't any outs and that means any individuals, or companies, who depend on state spending and in most ways are sponging off the state, are going to eat a hard cold s*** sandwich. This is going to last for many more years. In general there are many many businesses that are going to survive and they don't need the Calif State Gov. Period!!!
Just like the global economy we do business with many others in all the other 49 states. Our incomes streams don’t just depend on California. Also companies that foolishly sat on there laurels or got over indebted to expand we are more than happy to take over there niches.
The comparison to Greece in some articles about the State has a slight flaw the Greeks as a population really don't like working.
The businesses that don't depend on State GOV in any way are not going to sit on there asses and do nothing like the welfare losers who when there benefits dry up will move somewhere else since that is why we have so many deadbeats they came from somewhere else.
Oh sure the State will try to raise taxes but it will be another Calif government failure.
See this is a bad re-run I’ve seen this movie before in the very late 1970’s and early 1980’s in California.
And what a coincidence Jerry Brown starred in that movie too! And the ending will be the same he and his minions will lose again! But this time the carnage on there side will be like the smell of Naplam in the Morning!

Get all your friends, relatives and colleagues out of California, then break out the popcorn.

California is functionally bankrupt, and the feds no longer can rescue them.

The main problem with all this is that the scum (politicians) who got them into this will be able to leave, while the local businessman, teacher, parent... cannot.

I listened to Gov Brown's YouTube video. He uses the usual socialist scare line saying that the budget problems will cause, "cuts to schools and public safety."

He probably will cut those first to punish the people of California if they vote against his tax increases.

Have you read the comments on that article?

I honestly hope they resort to pure tax increases to 'fix' there problems. I'm at the point where I genuinely want anyone like that to fail.

The comments are always my favorite parts. It's the loony right-wingers who are causing all the trouble and won't allow the VAT, increased sales tax, achiever tax, toll tax, etc., that the lefties all want. They swim in their own shit out there, let them stew in in.

George W. Bush couldn't possibly be the cause of all the ills of the world - he's not even Jewish!

I actually live in the epicenter of communism USA (but the weather is nice). Currently going to the only university I can afford for an engineering degree. I normally would be just as happy as you, but I have seen that cuts to education results in less math, science and other useful courses (still have womyn's studies tho).

Hopefully I'll get out before the crap hits the fan. It will be nice to remain just to watch moronic --- studies majors (who all have 3.8 gpas) get a taste of reality.
